As an Investor, Diego helps aspiring entrepreneurs and later stage startups to get to clear growth and exit within developed and emerging markets. Mr Berrio has extensive experience in Private Equity, Corporate Finance and Strategic Planning. He has excelled in fundraising, capital deployment, team formation as well as in financial and strategic advisory.
From working at his family-owned businesses where he built the investment practice, he took the role of Portfolio Manager at Bricapital - the first hospitality fund in Colombia- where he led first negotiations and investments. Later, as an Investment Director at Terranum Hotels, he participated in the deals for over $400M. After, at Edupol, an e-learning socially-driven startup, he developed the company’s growth strategy, streamlined its operations and raised capital from Impact Investing Funds such as Acumen. During his MBA journey, he joined Hardware Club, a community-based Venture Capital Fund with offices in Paris, San Francisco and Tokyo.
Mr. Berrio holds an MBA from HEC Paris, where he was awarded with Excellence Scholarship. He also received certificate in Financial Management and B.S. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes (national top rank University in Bogota, Colombia).
